01 — Project Overview
Plastic Universe is an educational exhibit created to engage elementary school children in learning about plastic types, recycling, and pollution awareness. Through colorful infographics, playful characters, and interactive experiences, our goal was to encourage kids to develop sustainable habits from a young age and grow into environmentally conscious advocates.

02 — Exhibit Design & Interaction
The exhibit focused on translating 2D visuals into a 3D environment that kids could explore. All panels were under 3’6” tall—intentionally sized for children to easily see, read, and interact with. The main wall was used as a visual "journey of plastic" mural with strings connecting each stage of the process to a globe, representing the global impact of plastic use. Visitors also received character stickers and could explore a series of infographic displays that made the experience fun and memorable.

03 — Material & Fabrication
Our materials included plywood and MDF boards, which we laser-cut, primed, painted, and layered with vinyl graphics. We built each panel ourselves using tools in the woodshop, learning to drill, assemble, and problem-solve along the way. With support from faculty and staff, we completed fabrication in just two weeks. The exhibition was displayed for another two weeks before we returned the space to its original state.
04 — Reflection
This project is something we’re truly proud of. We finished everything on time and were grateful to receive such positive feedback from our faculty. More than anything, we’re thankful for the friendships and teamwork that made it all possible.
